When a man declines his sexual function, it's crucial to investigate all potential causes. It could be anything as essential as a prescribed medication or another treatable health illness; it could also result from stress or issues in a relationship.

Many different factors could be at play, even if you think you know the issue, and addressing erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, or any other sexual health issue is always important. A man's sexual health can be affected by several different things. If you want to see outcomes from medical care, it's imperative that you communicate all of your symptoms, treatments, and history with your provider.

Sexual health problems in men can be treated in a variety of ways. However, before jumping to conclusions based on what you read online, it is best to get the advice of an expert. In this article, we'll discuss two of the most common treatments for preventing and dealing with premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction in men.

What are SSRIs?

Antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) work by blocking the reabsorption of serotonin. Compared to other antidepressants, SSRIs stand out due to their reduced propensity to produce unwanted side effects.

SSRIs have some adverse effects, but this is to be expected with any medication. It's important to note that these medicines tend to have a good track record of safety. Many people report minimal or no adverse effects when using SSRIs for some time.

When taking an SSRI, you may feel anxious and nervous and have trouble sleeping (insomnia). These, along with other symptoms like sickness, anorexia, diarrhea, headache, impaired vision, and dry mouth, usually disappear as treatment progresses. The sweating that sometimes occurs as a negative side effect might remain for a while and be quite annoying

If you are concerned about experiencing unwanted side effects, it is imperative that you discuss this with your doctor. Sometimes, simple adjustments, such as taking your medication at a different time of day or right after a meal, might alleviate your discomfort.

Some persons who take SSRIs experience sexual dysfunction, such as decreased sexual interest (low libido), trouble getting and maintaining an erection, and difficulty experiencing a climax. Your doctor may suggest trying a different antidepressant if this becomes a problem.

What are PDE5 inhibitors?

Essentially, PDE5 inhibitors block the PDE5 enzyme from performing its function. The inhibitor causes the blood arteries to loosen up, resulting in better blood flow. PDE5 inhibitors are used to treat erectile dysfunction. PDE5 inhibitors improve erectile function by increasing blood flow to the penis in men with ED.

Some risk factors may be specifically addressed by a healthcare provider, such as the presence or absence of type 2 diabetes or hypertension. They could inquire about the individual's smoking, drinking, drug use, and daily routines. A patient's optimal course of treatment can be determined by answering these questions. Prescription drugs like sildenafil may be suggested to help men keep an erection for longer.

Facial flushing and a clogged nose are common side effects of PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis. Besides those, they can also trigger stomach upset, muscle pain, and headaches. An additional side effect of Viagra for men is a bluish or more intensely coloured tint to their vision. The majority of adverse effects are brief and generally disappear within an hour. However, most men continue using PDE5 inhibitors despite experiencing unwanted side effects.

Remember that PDE5 inhibitors should not be used while taking Nitrate medications. Check with your doctor if you have concerns about possible adverse effects or if you have questions about whether or not these medications are appropriate.
